Calvary Temple Christian Church (CTCC): Declaration For the Year

Calvary Temple Christian Church (CTCC) is a family set up by God in Christ to be a model church, chosen to be a blessing to the nations of the world.

On my part, I will demonstrate this by:

What I say: – speaking only blessings and only the truth,

How I live: – Living to please Christ,

The way I love: – Loving in purity and

Practicing true faith: – Making Christ the focus in all things.

All these I will do through Christ who strengthens me.

ABOUT US

Who we are

The Calvary Temple Christian Church, Ghana is one of the denominations or families of Churches which have arisen from the Pentecostal Movement that flowed from the Welsh Revival in 1904-05. It is self-governing and has local churches in many District in Ghana or branches with a National Headquarters in Accra.

Why we exist

The Calvary Temple Christian Church, Ghana is committed to playing a vital role as a significant part of the Body of Christ in positively impacting Ghana and beyond for Christ.

As a movement, we are passionate about seeing individual lives connecting with Christ, being empowered by the Holy Spirit, equipped to fulfill their God-given purpose and released in mission for the glory of God. As each local Calvary Temple Christian Church stays committed to equipping and releasing, there will be no end to the number of lives that will be built and the number of communities that will be transformed in Ghana and beyond.

Objects of the church

The main object of the Church shall be to teach and preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and continue steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine, breaking of bread, fellowship and prayers. In furtherance of these objects, the activities and programmes of the Church shall be organized in a manner as:

To encourage and promote evangelism;

To provide a basis of fellowship among Christians of like faith that will receive the teachings and the Government of the Church by forming and establishing Assemblies;

To receive tithes, offerings, donations, and gifts and to raise funds by biblical means for the use of the work of the church;

To establish and maintain departments and institutions such as Bible Schools, Health facilities, Agricultural projects, Educational Institutions, Printing presses, Bookshops, and any other ventures as may be necessary for the propagation of the Gospel and work of the Church and

To have the right to buy, take, accept, lease or otherwise acquire, own, hold in trust, use, convey, mortgage, lease or otherwise dispose of real and personal property, tangible or intangible, invest money as deemed necessary in bonds, debentures, bills and notes of whatsoever kind, to create trust deeds and mortgages, and to enter into contracts all as may be necessary for the work of the Church.

Governance

The church adheres strongly to the Biblical pattern of leadership. From Ephesians 4:11-12, the church is governed by a National Council made up of Apostles and Prophets. The National Council (Leadership) plays a major role in setting corporate vision and providing general direction for churches across the nation and affiliate churches overseas.

Foreign Missions

The Calvary Temple Christian Church, Ghana has a rich heritage in Global Missions. Our Overseas/Foreign Missions serves the vision of the local church in making Jesus’ last command (Matthew 28:18-20) our first priority. Presently, we have missionaries across the globe.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

1. About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God

2. About Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His person, future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years. Matt. 1:22, 23; Isa.9:6; John 1:1-5; Heb.4:14, 15; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Rom.1:3, 4 Acts1:9-11; 1 Tim.6:14, 15; Titus 2:13

3. About The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with The Father and The Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of Spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.

4. About the Bible

The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by holy men of God, under the supernatural guidance of The Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian belief and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture or error.

5. About Human Beings

People are made in the spiritual image of God to be like him in character and to have fellowship. But sin has separated people from God and causes many problems in life.

6. About Salvation

Salvation is God's free gift to human beings who have sinned against God and are under judgement. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved; and not by self improvement or good works. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Christ into his life by faith.

Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8, 9; John 14:6; John 1:12; Titus 3:5; Gal 3:26; Rom.5:1

What We Practice

Beliefs are not worth much unless they are translated into actions.

1. We accept the Bible as our sole authority 2 Tim.3:15

Since God's Word is the only completely reliable and trustworthy authority, we accept the Bible as our manual for living when we are faced with any problem or decision; our first question is "What does the Bible say?"

We practice daily Bible reading, Bible study and Bible memorization.

2. We accept Christ as the head of each local church. Col.1:18

Christ is the recognised head of our church, not any person, group or religious organization. While recognizing the value of associating and cooperating with other groups of Christians, we believe every local Church should be self-governing and independent from any denominational control.

3. We accept the Priesthood of every believer. Rev. 1:16; 1 Pet. 2:9

The Bible teaches that every Christian is called to "FULL TIME" Christian Service, regardless of his or her vocation.

We practice the truth that every believer is a minister by encouraging every member to find a place of service and ministry. Every believer has direct access to God through prayer and Bible reading.

4. We practice baptism by immersion (Col 2:12, Matt 3:16)

We believe the Bible teaches water baptism by immersion. Secondly, Jesus was baptised by immersion.

5. We practice Tithing - Lev27:30-32, Mal.3:10

We believe that giving 10% of your income is the Biblical standard for giving and also God's way of raising children.

6. We accept speaking in tongues as a prayer language given by the Holy Spirit at the time of the Spirit Baptism. (Acts 2:1-4; 10:44-46; 19:1-6; 1 Cor.14:2, 15, 18, 39)

We know that not all speak in tongues at the time of baptism, therefore, we encourage those who have the prayer language to exercise that gift in love.

7. We practice Spirit-led living. Eph. 5:18, John 15:5.

We believe the only way possible to live the Christian life is by God's power with us. So we seek to practice a daily dependence on God's Spirit to enable us to do what is right.

8. We practice Open communion - 1 Cor. 11:23-26.

We believe the Lord's Supper is a statement of faith and therefore, everyone who has received Jesus as his Lord and saviour can partake.

9. We practice personal witnessing - 1 Pet 3:15; Matt 28; 19-20

It is the responsibility of every Christian to share the Good news with those God brings us into contact with. We expect members to invite friends to church.

10. We practice Divine healing - Isa. 53:4, 5; Matt. 8:16 James 5:14-16

Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.
